Beginning of the Year Projects
A quick and easy way for upper-elementary students to get to know each other is to create individual word clouds. Ask students to create a list of words that describe them. Encourage students to use describing words or words that describe the various hats they wear throughout their lives. Quickly get to know your students with their unique clouds. About Me web Pages
Create an online portfolio of student's work by having students create individual websites. When students publish a piece of writing or complete a project they wish to share, they can upload it to their online portfolio. Weebly Education sites allow teachers to create up to 40 individual student accounts.
For the start of the school year, have students begin creating their website by making an 'About Me' page.
You must obtain permission from parents to create student accounts in Weebly.

Little Bird Tales is an online story creation and narration site. Students can create web-based podcasts in which they can add audio, upload images, or draw original artwork, and add text all on Little Bird Tales.
For the start of school students can Little Bird Tales that introduces themselves to the class. In the lower grades, each student can create one page of a class Bird Tales, while students in upper grades in create their own Bird Tales.
To get started, you will need to create a teacher account and then student accounts.

Students can create a Welcome Comic using ComicLife. Students can add text, photos, and change experiment with color choices. Choose from a template below:
